InStore: Optimized Display for All Screen Sizes and Expanded Attribute Translations
March 4th, 2025 at 7:22 AM
Here are the latest updates to InStore.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE RELEASE
Optimized Display for All Screen Sizes
Previously, the InStore interface was primarily designed for kiosk screens in portrait mode, which made it less convenient to use on devices like tablets or POS systems with landscape screens. With this update, we’ve improved the display to ensure a seamless and optimized experience across different screen sizes and orientations.
Better Navigation in Landscape Mode
When using InStore on a wider screen, such as a POS or a tablet in landscape mode, the layout is now more intuitive.
The Search panel is fixed on the left side of the screen, while the Search results appear on the right, making it easier to browse products.
Style cards and product media adjust dynamically to fit different screen sizes, improving readability and usability.
Button sizes, font sizes, and spacing have been refined for a more comfortable browsing experience.
The layout automatically adapts when switching between portrait and landscape mode on portable devices.
Improved Experience for Small Portrait Screens
We’ve optimized portrait mode for smaller devices, such as tablets, to improve usability.
The Search drawer now takes up less space, providing a clearer view of search results.
Button sizes, font sizes, and spacing have been refined for a more comfortable browsing experience.
Additional Adjustments
Quick Add to Basket behavior has been adjusted based on screen size:
On smaller landscape screens (e.g., tablets), it is available only within the ‘How About These’ widget in Basket View to maintain readability and usability.
On larger landscape screens (e.g., kiosks and POS), Quick Add to Basket remains available across all views.
Other Improvements
Expanded Attribute Translations
Previously, some attributes—Brand, Gender, Category, Subcategory, Size, Length, and color —were not translated. These attributes are now fully translated, ensuring a more consistent experience across different languages.
